But y tho?

The satire of Culture My Arts is ever relevant in a fake news world. Our podcast spoofs the authentic feel of a live radio show to undermine the media's psuedo-authority, and take a sardonic swipe at crap content and elitist snobbery. We parody an array of topics within arts & culture. Sometimes lovingly. Sometimes critically. But always funnily. The world can be a depressing place rife with injustice and stupidity. Culture My Arts uses laughter as a tool to ridicule it, and, just maybe... change it.

"And if I laugh at any mortal thing, 'tis that I may not weep."
                                                                                                              - Lord Byron

Born In Bangor

Picture
Culture My Arts was originally an undergraduate dissertation project at Bangor University. All those involved in the project have links to Bangor, with a handful being local to North Wales.

BBC Featured

Picture
Two episodes of Culture My Arts were commissioned for BBC Radio Stoke in 2018. We were immensely proud when they censored the word 'anus'. These recordings are now affectionately considered pilots, and have accordingly been destroyed. Forever.

Fresh Take

Picture
Culture My Arts isn't original. It pays homage to a format of contemporary satire previously employed by the likes of Chris Morris and Steve Coogan. We're just approaching it with a new angle and different content.

My physical body is based in Bangor, but my heart is still in Stoke-on-Trent. Comedy is the only thing I can write without falling asleep. Hopefully Culture My Arts doesn't make you fall asleep. But it probably will. It's sh*t.

Since I was a young lad in Barnsley, I've always passionately hated muck. That’s why I decided to pursue a career as a cleaner. I just want to rid the world of muck. Also, I enjoy recording funny voices with my friends.

Said my first word at 1. United mad by 7. Left school at 16. At 18, worked nights at The Castle. But I stopped pulling pints and started pushing myself. I was born in Aylesbury, but I was made in Culture My Arts.

From Cambridge, but have never took part in the boat race. Acted alongside Les Battersby from Coronation Street. Original CMA cast member. I still question why cleaning Finn's pants helps to aid the creative process.

On Anglesey we have a saying: girls with blue eyes are nasty. Being a blue-eyed girl myself, I think anyone who says that are f***ing lying b**tards. Anyway, I’m doing this Culture My Arse for some ginger tw*t now.

Man of the minute with a Birkenhead spirit. Referee of the eternal battle between imposter and Asperger’s syndrome in my mind, and it’s all square at half time. Enjoy making a vocal tit of myself.

I’m from Essex but I say I’m from East London to look cool. It rarely works. I do all the art for Culture My Arts. Once, I painted my boyfriend drinking out of a teapot and someone on Reddit said I was a tw*t.

From town of Ormskirk - land of gingerbread, potatoes and plastic scousers. Bangor University? Completed it mate. Just another bloody woman trying to be funny. Occasionally succeeds.

Another one of those plastic Scousers the cast is riddled with, found scrounging in the bins behind Lidl and it's been downhill from there. Currently the world's third most prolific writer of Pingu fan-fiction.

I say I'm from Gatwick Airport because it's easier to locate than Crawley. I’m really good at catching my friends doing stupidly funny things so now I’m going to do it professionally. I write poems but my mum is my biggest fan.
